No matter how good the impregnation is, it will never last forever. Friction during transport, UV radiation and other environmental influences will inevitably wear away the protective layer at some point. Accordingly, the need for renewal always depends on how often you use your equipment.

You can test this by setting up your tent before a camping trip and splashing it with water. This works wonderfully with a garden hose, a watering can or a spray bottle. If the liquid beads up, the waterproofing is sufficient. If the fabric gets soaked instead, it's time to use your waterproofing spray for tents.

Basically, you should renew the impregnation every two to three years, depending on use.

By the way: Because we rely on environmentally friendly materials, the natural abrasion of our products does not harm nature.

Properties of the different impregnation sprays for tents

With Tent Guard Eco you impregnate synthetic fabrics made of polyester or polyamide (nylon) of tents and tarps / tarpaulins. Even old, silicone-coated outer tents become highly water-repellent again. Of course, you can also treat other equipment made of these materials such as bags or backpacks with it. Due to the additional UV protection, the individual fibers are protected from sunlight, degrade less quickly and remain tear-resistant longer.

For a more comfortable climate in the tent during the summer, fabrics made of cotton or cotton blends are often used. With Cotton Guard Eco you can not only protect the material from rain, but also protect it from UV rays for longer usability. Cotton Guard Eco is also excellent for impregnating technical cotton and even Etaproof®.
